Fer cryin' out loud. This is wayno we're talkin' about. Just "reply to
sender" and you'll be fine. Good to see you posting again, Wayne. I was
about to post a "whatever happened to Wayne Knight" post.

BTW, wayno - I have an exquisite cheapo-9' 5 wt that I'd part with for
$50. Please do not pay attention to the fact that I paid $25 for the
bastid.

Also, please excuse any mistakes in the above post. Jose Cuervo is
visting with his friends Lime and Salt. YeeeeeeHAAAAA!

having "gone to paree" by attending this year's western clave, and
optimistic enough to entertain the possibility that i might live long
enough to attend again next year, and having learned that madison river
winds can make short work of an 8'4wt hardy with a 3" long salmon fly at
the terminus, i am in the market for a used 9'5wt.

since i am blessed with impeccable taste, my first choice would be,
obviously, a thomas.* however, if someone has an alternative offering
that doesn't include one of those freaking lamp posts carrying the
inscription "sage", i would be pleased to consider all

I have the following 9' 5 weight rods that i would consider putting up for
adoption.

T & T Vector 9' 5 peice Frank R found it too slow for him, Apparently Mr.
Epps liked it but wanted to hang on to his wallet.
Diamondback All American 9' 4 pc (labeled as a 5/6 wt)
Winston DL4 9' 4 piece.

Wayne,
It was awful nice but with the Western Clave bill coming due afraid if I
bought it SWMBO found out she would have enjoyed ramming each of the
five pieces through my naughty bits!

Sorry my man, don't own one. I did once, a Diamondback VSR but I sold
it -- big mistake. Should've kept it. If you see one, buy it.
Shouldn't be expensive. Call Waldo, he might be able to get a line on
one.

Hey man, I'm not miffed. Do you remember the Hardy reel you swapped with
me for that rod? I use it as a damn doorstop. BWAHAHA

This is great! Thanks. Seeing there has been no critique of the Sage
SLT 9 foot 5 weight rod, I take that to mean it has the ROFF stamp of
trout and bronzeback approval. And with no list of suggeted
alternatives as an as good as or better rod, I guess the final
judgement is in. Thanks.

I'm very happy with the Sage Launch Series 590-4, 9' 5wt 4pc, which I feel
cast just as good as their premium line rods. It cast very easily as I can
throw loops out at 80 ft. and very tight loops in the 50-60 ft range. It's
under $200. and comes with a beautiful padded case with separate
compartments, and a lifetime guarantee. Sage will replace the rod even if
you accidentally slam the car door on it.
At least cast and examine the workmanship first before you make a purchase
for a 5w, there is no obligation to buy it.

Some anglers think you need to purchase an expensive rod to fish, I don't
see the point.
I love teasing my friend when the fish aren't hitting, telling him; "I think
the fish knows you have a $1000. rod in your hand."
