Hope you do well Warren. I'm headed out after work tomorrow at noon, then
again all day Friday.

I don't have any of those $17.00 Lucky Craft Lures though.

But
of course, the forcast is for rain. I just spooled some Seaguar 8# onto

my
light spinner, matched it with a rigid 7' Furnace Bay spinnin rod, and

tied
on the $17 Lucky Craft Live Pointer I bought at Dick's the other day.

Yes,
I must have lost my mind over the winter...

Already have a date, maybe next time handsome! I wasn't happy with the way
the Lucky Craft Live Pointer worked. The swim part of the action was ok,
but on the pause it's tail immediately pointed down. I want my jerkbaits to
suspend horizontally, not vertically. I'm gonna add some weight to the head
part, hopefully that'll balance things out a bit...

There was an article in Bassmaster about two months ago featuring jerkbaits
and how some suspend perfectly right from the box while others don't. it
mentioned the storm suspend dots and some type of line that fly fisherman
use, can't remember the name of it, I'll have to look, either way with the
water temps the way they are right now, suspending jerkbaits are the way to
go in my opinion, don't think I'll be tying on any that cost 17 bucks, but
you never know, Yesterday I went to the mailbox and received an e-bay item I
won. I started using my smoking money that I have saved since I quit for
purchasing antique/vintage lures. Well I get this jointed frog lure from
the 50's, didn't pay much maybe 12.00 total and I am driving past the lake,
I have a rod but no hooks, lures worms etc. Hmm jointed frog lure.. tie it on
and cast it out, great action, second cast got me a little 14 inch pickerel,
I decided that it might not be smart to keep casting it.. : )

Are you going back to Boom?

Right now, It's doubtful that I'm going to make it this year. I was thinking
about heading up north somewhere for some smallmouth action, just haven't
decided where just yet.

Craig... wanna show me some of those Lake St. Clair beauties?

The closest thing to a Mall would be 3 people at one time in Janet's coffee
shop.
