Default A Big Week for the Huber Clan

Steve,

That is amazing, I see since the ball has started rolling it hasn't
slowed a bit!!!! Great to see such great things happen to such a hard
working and dedicated person! Congratulations to you and your whole
family. I look forward to seeing you in a little over a month!

Wow, what a week it's been! It started when I caught a 22 7/8 inch
smallmouth (didn't weigh it). It absolutely crushed a Secret Weapon
firetiger spinnerbait.

Then, my future son in law Brandon (Inky to those who attended last year's
NWC) found out he's getting Charles' Nitro, and yesterday I found out what
was probably the best bit of news.

Brandon and my daughter Rebecca are giving me a great Christmas present.
They found out that my third grandchild will be a grandSON!!!

WhooHooo, I have another little fishing rod to build! This one will have
BLUE wraps. :-)

So, I'm working a 24 hour shift today and tomorrow when I get home, I'll
change clothes, head to Wausau and pick Inky up. Then we're making the trip
to Nashville!

All in all, not a bad week.

Thank you! This will be grandkid #3 for me, but the first grandSON. While
I love them all, a grandson is something just a tad different. I can dress
this kid in camo, buy his first BB gun, teach him to make rude noises with
his arm-pit and do all kinds of neat things that I get in trouble for doing
with the girls!

I've been having a whole lot of fun lately. Congratualtions on your
upcoming family expansion.

I did all the above for my grand daughter (first grand child), the BB
gun was an instant hit with her, she's awesome with it now (she's 8),
now my grand sons are 2 and 1 month, bought the two year old his first
fishing rod, and reel, this week,(a NEMO Zebco) one week after he
trashed one of his dad's Lumuses, (concrete and 200 dollar rod do not
mix well :-) Had my grand daughter with me , so she requested a new rod
and reel as well, if I was buying her brother one, so I picked up her
her first I actually bought for her (the others were supplied by
manufacturers). Anyway, they both are happy.

Have fun with that grand son,, but also teach those grand daughters all
about the outdoors as well. My grand daughter now wants me to buy her a
deer rifle before the season starts,,

PS

My grand daughter would rather fish than do anything else in the world,
I get tired of fishing for the day, long before she does, she keeps
asking ,, "let's just stay for one more hour"

Man,, being a grand dad is great

Rodney, in this instance I certainly agree with you. Having 4 daughters and
a son, I don't believe in treating little girls any different than little
boys. Both Maggie and Abby have received their own custom built rods,
complete with tiny little ice fishing spinning reels. They're perfect for
little hands. The girls also have camo clothing and Maggie (age 2) thinks
armpit noises are one of the funniest things she's ever heard. It's just
that my daughter doesn't think this is as appropriate for her little girls
as it would be for her sister's son! Oh well, Katie's just going to have to
get over it, because they have a pond on their property that I've been
periodically stocking with largemouth. As soon as she's able, Maggie's
going fishing with Granpa, and it shouldn't be much longer now, Abby is
going to be a while.

As soon as appropriate, BB guns will follow. I tried to get a little bow
and arrow set, but Janet caught me. Not wanting to create a scene, I'll go
back and get it when she's not around..... :-)

And you're right, being a grandpa is great, if I'd known it was so much fun,
I would have had THEM first.
