Thanks, Charlie. Just think what I might be able to capture if I had a
decent camera and any sense of photography!G Still, some places and subjects just can't be ruined even by poor equipment or inexperienced photographer. Wish I had a telephoto as the eagle has been very active and is clearly feeding a chick in the nest. jeff Charlie Choc wrote: On Mon, 02 Apr 2007 07:08:49 -0400, jeff wrote: spent april fool's day on one of my favorite shad creeks...had it all to myself...it was spectacular. owls, bald eagle, shad, two small bass, snagged a huge gar, and on the way out took a photo of a big catfish someone had hooked on one of the lines put out from a landing on the creek... That's a nice photo. Jeff. |

It's a very cool place. Is it as desolate as it looks? Willi |

You need to come down to the Everglades next Feb. for some fishing and bird watching - plenty of things to practice on down there. ;-) -- Charlie... http://www.chocphoto.com |

Willi it's the same place and the same eagles dominate its sky. it's always a fine place to be, but not really desolate. it's near farm lands and is a trib of one of the major rivers in eastern nc. folks have discovered it so it gets some pressure during the shad season... on this trip i was there from about 8 am until almost 6 pm and saw only one other boat at a distance, but they left after about an hour. that's not typical on a shad season weekend. still, the cypress creeks in eastern nc do give the feel and look of remote places, and they offer some stunning, peaceful beauty for those who take the time to look and poke about. hope all is well with you...looking forward to seeing and fishing with you again. jeff |

Willi i make a better witness and passenger than a captain! i know little or nothing about the keys and its waters, but i sure would like to see that fort out in the dry tortugas... i hear the fishing isn't too bad there either. but it's about 60 or 70 miles from key west i think. what do you guys fish for down there? jeff |

We had hoped to get some redfish and baby tarpon down by Flamingo but a cold front chased the fish off the flats and we fished up in the freshwater part of the Everglades for the most part. Willi and Bruce went down to the Keys after I left and went after tarpon and whatever else swam by. -- Charlie... http://www.chocphoto.com |
