Hi, this is my first post so please be patient with me if this doesn´t work. I use a tool called "Dick Clark spinning block" which I bought a couple of years ago I think I paid about 80 Swedish Krona for it (about 12 USD). It is made of oak wood and has a small nail in one end and a cut in the other, it can´t be simpler but it works perfectly. You can see a picture of it here http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...nningblock.jpg Greetings from Sweden Soren Finne |

![]() Hi Again, Dick Clark was one of Leisenring's students along with Vern Hidy, who co-authored Leisenring's book. The dubbing block works quite well. I have one myself. I also use a piece of mat board for dubbing bodies, Leisenring style. [image: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...e/DubCard.gif] This is fairly simple. Flymphs are fished much like soft-hackles, but are especially effective with active retrieves like the Leisenring Lift. Hidy liked to blot the fly between casts to help it trap air in the fur and hackle fibers. He was the originator of the term, "flymph" or half fly, half nymph. They can also be fished like any standard wet fly.
