I have read about the small Mustang (or similar) vests that inflate if you get submereged. I was thinking about one for that just in case moment. They look like they would not interfere with casting. The water that I wade is not too deep ore fast but has some holes etc like most rivers in Michigan. Anyone used one of these vests for wading or any other thoughts? I don't mean this harshly, but if you're _this_ concerned for your abilities, it might be better not to get into situations that would require something to bring you to the surface. Such floatation devices are not designed for people to use to push their personal limits in areas/situations for which they are only marginally physically able. IAC, are you talking about collars or actual _vests_ - Mustang makes a FFing PFD vest, but AFAIK, the only auto-inflaters are the collars, so ??? I'd recommend the manual PFD vest over the auto collar and a "normal" FFing vest, but YMMV. As others have said, don't put anything over the collar. TC, R |

R Yeah! Sure! Now you tell us! Meanwhile some poor schlepp is floating face-down in the currents below Horsechop simply because he put his PFD vest *on top of* his PFD collar! Man, his wife is ****ed, his chillen are cryin', and everyone in camp is angry, because you, YOU, didn't say what you *meant* to say. Oh, the humanity. Meanwhile, back at the camps, the fishermen that actually *survived* your misworded advice are takin' it easy with the The Complete Town Hall Concert with Charlie Mingus, having completely blown off the day because of the *cold*, yes, damn it, the COLD. And that's probably your fault too! Naw, it's Bush's fault... More than 450 days on the G3s and counting. You're just part of the money culture... HTH, R d;o) |
