Frank can you buy the stuff for the stew locally so you don't have to
transport..........

Jeff yes Bruce has flies tied by Tom the creek house is in a good
local at this time it's not rented for the clave dates so we should be
able to take a look at it.........

does he
have some of your flies for sale?

jeff (creator of unique pa. duck butts)

my hope is that he is sold out, but, he probably has some left. He also
carries, IMHO, very effective Drakes. He is getting 5 dozen Grey Foxes from
me in a day or two.

Larry

Things in mid and north Montana are delayed at least 2-3 weeks due to a cold
, snowy and rainy spring and a late but large melt
Perhaps we will avoid drought condittions and still be fishing in August

Thanks for the info, Fred. I called West Yellowstone this morning and
got a real 'wait and see' prediction for the Montana and Park openers ... IF
the weather stays cool ... should be OK ... IF it turns pretty warm ..
likely to be muddy rivers

August is always a tough month. Seems nearly everywhere is 'peak time' in
June/July ... Sept/Oct but it's hard to find real quality in August

Does your area have good fishing at that time? I'm thinking about the
Missoula area, Rock Creek, Thompson, for this August ... at least you can
find a shady place to camp in a canyon, from what I hear. I'm also
thinking about the Crowsnest/ Bow as potential eighth month heat beating
fish catching opportunities. I've never fished the Blackfoot Lakes, but
August has got to be HOT, WINDY, and Slow fishing, I'd think.

Larry L ( the best consistent August dry fly fishing I know of is Hebgen
Lake callibaetis gulpers ... there are some good August trico places too,
but they tend to be way crowded and toodamnhot )

The Blackfoot lakes - You should go w Joe Kipp the #1 Indian guide- worth
every penny

Its about $400 but I am easy to convince to go and split it
I am going w Joe in July
I fish w him for a day and fish Cut Bank Creek on his property fo another
day

I have had a trip planned for the last 3 weeks on rock Creek all postponed
because of poor conditions but chk Dougs daily reports

http://www.rcmerc.com/storeindex.htm

Its a great place - a shady canyon and real easy access - great fishing -
its 3 3 1/2 hrs South for me

Plan to arrive 24th, leave 30th. I'll call Rudy to snag a car-camping
spot somewhere near Central.

My daughter who lives in Italy is coming for a visit May 22-29. Bad
timing. But she will probably be with us only the first weekend, so I
hope to get to the Clave a couple of times during the later part. I'll
be commuting so I won't need housing.
