I've tried all those shots with Brownings, Winchesters, Remingtons, American Arms and a host of others. Didn't work. Never realized how superior Benellis are. Gotta get one. giles who wonders just how much a finely checkered persian walnut grip would add to the cost of a double barreled, blued steel italian fly rod. They may be great for shooting clays, but could you hit a duck with one? Bill |

Bill Well, I've hit ducks with with sticks, golf clubs, bricks, garbage cans, bowling pins, muffin pans, walnuts, lead pipes, a frozen cat, automobiles, forks, rocks, TV trays, books and coaxial cable. Messy business. Not sure I'd want to do it with a presumably very expensive shotgun. g. wreaks havoc with the finish, don'tcha know. |

Shot any fish lately ? :-) Bill Not as easy as it sounds. For one thing, there's that whole refractory index thingy.....makes it very difficult to lead them properly. Besides, the first round pretty much puts the rest of the fish down; time to move to the next pool. Lots of hiking and very expensive, what with the cost of steel shot. And then, even when you hit one of the blighters, what's left ain't fit for much but the meat grinder and fish patties. ![]() giles a gallon of clorox and a nice net about a quarter mile downstream......that's the way to go! ![]() |

Bill Assuming the video is undoctored (not unreasonable, given centuries of reliable eyewitess reports of remarkable shooters), that was some damned fine shooting regardless of circumstances. To be sure, properly staged and shot video of hand thrown clays being shot to dust appears more impressive than it would in person.....especially to other accomplished shooters.....but still, I saw just one clean miss that I'm reasonably certain of. That ain't half bad. On the other hand, there is no good reason to suppose that the same level of finesse could not be achieved with a Winchester, or a Yamaha or a Chevrolet or a Baldwin or a Vivitar or an Underwood or a Shakespeare or a Black and Decker or a Bic or a Ginsu or..... giles who knows that it ain't the fiddlestick that catches fish...... |

That ain't half bad. Nothing short of brilliant - really impressive stuff. I think the miss was when he tried to hit about 7 clays.
