breakfast and
I'll be there.

Over to you, Wayne. We await your command.

BTW: Becky says we got room to put up a body for a night, if you

don't
care
to drive as far as Mad Town.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll probably be traveling with a big

2-1/2 yo
Golden, Ralph's a great dog but we're a little behind the eight ball

in the
obedience department with him. We'll pick a Holiday Inn somewhere

near
Madison, which will also make the Sunday morning trip before the

return home
easier.

Good enough.

But can I take a rain check for my summer return to the Tomorrow
River?

By all means.

and we still got time to lay in a stock of whatever beverage is

required.

I'm gonna pack some Two Hearted Ale, some Bell's Pale Ale, and a

flask of
Scotland's finest. What else would we like?

That'll do for breakfast on Saturday. We can pick something up
locally to get us through the rest of the day.

I was hoping to get out of town early enough to hit up the warehouse

sale @
Sam's Wine and Spirits in Chicago before heading north and west, but

it
looks like I won't be leaving soon enough. .

Joel will have a flask. He'll get us over the rough spots.

You got a meeting place in mind?

Ah, the breakfast malt, would that be the Highland Park, the Glenn Rothes,
or the Macallan?

It's been so long since i went through that way, I have forgotten what's
where along the route but I'm thinking either a Perkins near the hotel i
might use or the Cracker Barrel. Unless someone knows of a local haunt
rather than a chain they'd rather eat breakfast.

Went to the WI DNR site tonight and printed my license. Rods are tucked
safely in the case and tackle ready. Just need to find my Delorme,

Well, I don't know Fennimore at all, so I have nothing to suggest. I
talked to Joel last night. He says he'll meet us wherever. So, I
guess you get to pick one and tell us where it is. Joel also
suggested meeting between 8:00 and 9:00. That works for me.

There's always something perversely amusing about having trouble
finding a map.

wondering where he left his glasses.

Do want to meet in Madison and convoy/car pool out west or do we just want
to meet up in Fennimore?

If we want to meed in Madison, lets just say the cracker barrel off of I-90
@ 8 ish? If we want to meet in Fennimore, theres' a store on the left off
hwy 18 just as you go into Fennimore called the Three B's (beer, bait, and
bargains), we can meet there around 9 am.

I'm a medium height fuf (fat ugly f***er) with greying hair and glasses in a
white suv with indiana tags.

My cell phone is 317-517-6962. I do not know what Verizon's coverage area is
in that area but I assume Madison will work.

especially since mine got packed up for the move from chicago to kansas,
never unpacked and now gone from kansas to indianapolis via two months in
storage. Lord only knows which box it is hiding in. I assume you or Joel
will have the WI Dnr trout stream map?

I'm commonly described as a nordic god.......but I'll be wearing a
curly haired disguise with glasses, salt and pepper (mostly salt)
beard, a cigarette and a tan Wilson Creek Outfitters ball cap.

Yeah, Madison's got good coverage. I'll call.

We'll pick up a copy of the trout regs somewhere.....it's got all the
maps. I'll also be carrying my DeLorme.

That owner of that damn place, ezflyfish customer #1, a few other hardys, a
lamson, a tibor, a sage, waders, and shoes and he ain't never gave me no
hat. Must be ashamed to think that I would wear it in public and drive off
his customers.

Well, I drove through a large part of the SE third of Wisconsin last
week. Streams are all running freely with very little ice even along
the banks. By Friday nearly all of the snow had disappeared from the
surrounding landscape. Unless we get significant precipitation
between now and Saturday, the 6th, stream levels should be very
manageable with no undue silt load. No significant precipitation is
expected. Weather.com says high of 36 and low of 24 for Friday, 40/26
for Saturday, and 42/31 for Sunday. Few snow showers on Friday and
Saturday, and mostly sunny on Sunday.

Assuming anyone is still interested, someone still has to make a
choice of location. A couple of us have expressed indifference to
Black Earth creek but not much else has been suggested. If anyone has
a preference, this would be the time to make it known. I WILL be
going somewhere (whether to fish or merely do the tourist thing will
hinge on weather, mood, etc.). I'm moderately familiar with a few
streams in Vernon county....West Fork of the Kickapoo, Timber Coulee,
and a couple of others....but I understand that it's a long drive for
anyone coming up from Illinois or other points south. I'll bow to
anyone else's requirements.

If I don't get a stated preference from anyone in the next day or two
I'll pick a spot myself and let you all know where I'll be on Saturday
morning.

Wolfgang

Well, I wasn't going to post this but I suppose it should be noted
that there flood watches out for SW Wi. tonight (Thursday) and
tomorrow from heavy rain and thunderstorms. We're lucking out up here
in Merrill with 10" of snow being forecast. Might be wise to keep a
weather eye. Even if the creeks are high there are a couple of small
stillwater trout venues in the SW, with Salmo Pond just west of
Madison on Hwy 14 sometimes being worth a shot.
