But if you think your ISP is not easily found, I'd bet a nickel (even
a shiny new one) that someone here could have it within an hour while hardly bothering to work at it. I won't even mention how amusing it would be to see contact information. You would be out a nickel and your hacker friends would find themselves one unsuccessful and two in trouble for trying, so save the tough talk for a newbie. Okay, one, its not illegal, its public record. Two, your domain IP resolves to 69.56.164.46, which is hosted by: The Planet Internet Services, Inc. 1333 Stemmons Frwy., Suite 110 Dallas, Texas 75207 whose abuse email is or phone (800) 854-7679 toll free Oh, by the way, the acceptable use policy is at: http://www.theplanet.com/aup/ You are in violation of that. They have been notified. You registered your domain via GO DADDY SOFTWARE, INC. and it expires on 9 Aug 2004. Is there anything else I can tell you? After you lose your ISP, just consider this a lesson and move on. -- Frank Reid (CISSP) Reverse email to reply |

Can you pronounce "Duoh"? While I, personally, do not use finger, whois, and DNS, a site is very easy to track for anyone who knows the music to which I only know the words. I doubt anyone here will actually try to hack your site, as that would be marginally illegal, though, in face of your repeated SPAM and challenge, I'd not consider it immoral. Some may report you to eBay, some to AOL, some to whomever. Or at least haven't learned much in however long you've been around. I did NOT (see that? NOT) say anyone would hack your site. I did say they could find out a lot about you. Perfectly legally, newbbie. Don't you know what all public information is around when you take a Web site? Guess not. Finger, whois, and DNS information don't require hacking and are not illegal. There's a reason for that information being publicly available. Yeah, but this isn't actually a virus - just a minor(?) annoyance: http://tinyurl.com/qiwz If you block Java Script, it's not a problem. Since I'm used to speaking to end-users who are clueless, if I use terms like "worm" or "trojan script" I get blank stares in return, so I end up using the word "virus" as a catch-all. ![]() Hey, where'd our braggadocious friend Securtron go? Haven't seen him since Frankie's post. ;-) -- TL, Tim ------------------------ http://css.sbcma.com/timj |
