Playing with the contents of the sock drawer again, are you ? again, forty, you do not disappoint me.... Your eyelash-batting, swimsuit wearing, sweet Daisy Mae shtick will doubtless amuse some of the folks around here, especially if you continue to include a bit of sunbathing near the waterfall in your "trip reports", but don't expect that I'll be one of those so amused. "Which of you big strong boys wants to help poor, little ol' me learn how to fish ?" BLECH, it's enough to gag a maggot off a **** wagon. Post something about fly fishing if you ever try it. I wasn't complaining about off-topic posts from a fly fisherman. Indeed, as you point out, in your quaint and rustic fashion, there is precious little a fly fisherman could post here that would be considered off-topic according to the conventions and traditions of roff. I was offering a bit of constructive criticism to Ms. Snake because she's never been fly fishing and her posts were starting to sound like abridged Penthouse tales submitted as personal ads to the classified section of _The Hillbilly Times_. -- Ken Fortenberry |

Your eyelash-batting, swimsuit wearing, sweet Daisy Mae shtick "Which of you big strong boys wants to help poor, little ol' me learn how to fish ?" gee, forty, i don't recall asking any of you big strong boys to teach me to fish. as i recall, i decided saturday night that i was ready to try fishing, went shopping for a fishin pole alone- no big strong boy with me-ventured out on my own sunday mornin, again unaccompanied- no big strong boy- and went out again today- alone- to continue the adventure. other than a little advice from the gentlemen from florida, i think i have pursued this adventure pretty much without the request of aid from anyone of the male gender. anyone who knows me at all knows that while i do enjoy the company and affections ofmen, and i may at times be a flirt, i am not an eyelash batting, please help me becasue i am a helpless woman i. am a strong, self reliant woman, who has managed quite well to accomplish some great feats in life without resorting to such tacticts. as far as any penthousesque (sp?) allusions, i think you are a little confused. who brought up the contents of the sock drawer. i think you might be just a little fixated on such things. also i believe we are all adult enough here to not be overly excited my the mere mention of a bathing suit for god's sake. what are we-junior high-schoolers, ruled by our hormones?? as far as posting a non-fly fishin trip, i did put out feelers prior to the post. if you don't want to read the ****- skip it. snakefiddler BLECH, it's enough to gag a maggot off a **** wagon. Wash your hands with a stainless steel spoon and dish soap. Ever see those
stainless steel odor removers? Seriously no need to waste that lemon for your cocktails. |

I've not met you in person, but your posts here belie what you'd have us believe. As for who commented on the contents of your sock drawer, that would have been you in the first place, now wouldn't it, how else would I have known of it ? You don't fly fish, you've never fly fished, in fact until mere moments ago you've never fished PERIOD. Why are you here ? Why do you post here to boast in front of an overwhelmingly male audience of your sunbathing and your "strong, self-reliance" ? Like I said, it's enough to gag a maggot off a **** wagon. -- Ken Fortenberry- and please feel free not to read this ;-) |

I don't know why it works, but it does. The steel needs to be stainless though. Some outdoor magazines sell "bars" of stainless steel for this purpose. They don't say they're stainless steel, but they are. Cold water works better than hot for cleaning off fish slime too. |
