What is the schedule of this clave?

Thanks, Charlie!

There seems to be a big bunch this year. I want to hear the experiences
about the clave this year. I start planning the trip for next year.
The time, in the middle of june, sounds good otherwise, but I also
start planning a hunting trip to South Africa. My frien living in Los Altos
Hills, Ca, own a hunting ranch there and offered hunting for a reasonable
price. This possible trip is during the summer 2005.

Come on out Roger.

You'll see some "less civilized" country, meet some
"less civilized" folks and catch some "less civilized" fish.

A collection of some scenery and fish pictures from past Western Claves
to give you a flavor of the Western experience!

Where were these photo's taken? What was it like fishing with the
hulkster? Just kidding about that part. Looks like you had a
great trip, I look forward to experiencing those views one day.

I have a couple of photos of you half-naked, drying out after dunkings,
that Willi didn't see fit to include. :-)

Madison, Henry's Fork, Warm River, Two Secret Lakes (including the Hulkster,
Darin M), Beaverhead, Rock Creek. The Sunset Casting is Pike fishing on the
Clark Fork near Missoula. There's a few from Yellowstone also. The
mountains at sunset photo is on the Madison, looking East into the park. It
was a chilling scene. Mostly because I was soaking wet :-) I have a
similar photo from my camera thanks to Zip Loc.

Thankfully he stuck with the "bruce with fish" photos!

Butt I have a photo CD that could be "lost" for the right price ;-)

BTW, nice ribbing on your red/orange larva from the midge swap. Any chance
of getting a recipe?

Cheers,
Bill

Bill,

It's tied on a tmc 2488 size 20. You can tie a small larva and still have a
relatively large gap with that hook.

I use red 8/0 and bind orange rod wrapping thread to the top of the shank
with the tying thread. Wrap the tying thread back up to behind the eye and
half hitch it, then twist the rod wrapping thread tight by spinning it
counter clockwise then wrap it forward carefully, leaving just a little room
between each wrap so the red can show through a little. Glad you like it.

Willi,

Thanks for the pictures. Looks like one hell of a place to go fishing at.
I'll see if I can manage to get out there.
