wally.... who proposes... "roffian's run" I like Roffian's Run.... The Finn is that a "seconded?" it does have a nice ring to it.... being that particular stretch has always been friendly to all of us roffizens, perhaps the name will stick and eliminate this all so terribly distressing competition. ;-) speaking of rings.... as soon as i logged off this am after posting, my tele rang. i was greeted with "it's about gawdamn time you got off the ****in' 'puter." tom? no, it's doug you ****head. well, i ain't the fastest typer in the world and if i make a post of any length, well, it takes some time to do so and it seems 'ole doug of patterson was tryin' to get ahold of me to go do some fishin'. conversation: gawdamn holsten (tn tailrace) is out... generation all day, no wading..... well **** doug, howza bout w&^%+*s?.... gawdammit walt, it's rainin'and lightnin' down here..... yeah flatdick, it passed through here but now it's just sprinklin'..... how 'bout i call you after lunch, maybe it will clear up some... sure doug, that works.... after lunch.... walt, it's sunny! well get yer ass up here and we'll go afishin... bout an hour later doug shows up, we toss his **** in my jeep and we head out to the headwaters of w&^%+*s, stopping at the exxon fer some gas, crackers and pbr's. the drive over grandfather was uneventful and i swung on down edgemont road towards the w&^%+*s watershed. i'll be damned. there wasn't any vehicles parked at the top of w&^%+*s. we rig up and proceeded upstream, fishing some of the prettiest brookie water that the 'ole north state has to offer. in the first pool doug caught a brown of about 3 inches. sonofabeech thinks i.... i released the intruder into a puddle, catch&release stream donchaknow. it was one of those days.... the elements were great.... overcast skies, good companionship, hatching flies and hungry fish. we caught brookies of five to nine inches out of nearly every pool and run, a way cool thang. i fished a sulphur parachute. doug fished a elk-wing caddis. we both done pretty good and we decided to trek back out to the car and refreshments. on the way out... doug, we had a pretty durn good afternoon... how many fish ya think we caught? **** walt, two, three dozen, i dunno, we caught a bunch. a bunch is a cool number... kinda like roffian's run is a cool name. no pretensions, just a cool knowing. wally |
