Lets see... Daddy duty last Saturday. Working this Saturday. I'd swear
you're afraid of a little cold, Harry.

Phil,

Haven't heard from Harry yet, but so far it looks like the back seat in my
boat is open this Saturday. I offered it to him last week, so if he wants
to take it, it's his. Otherwise, stake your claim to it, Phil.

Hi again Rich,
I can't seem to get an e-mail to you so I guess I will have to use the
newsgroup (sorry guys). I would love to go out Saturday if Harry can't make
it for some reason. Just e-mail me with the details and I will get back to
you. Thanks once again and I look forward to hearing from you.

Phil

Phil,

My pop server is still crashed, so I can't receive email. A huge tree fell in
my yard in the windstorm today. But it missed the boat (not by much) and
isn't blocking me from getting it down the driveway, and the National Weather
Service is saying that the winds in Kingston will be down in the 10 to 15 mph
range by daybreak tomorrow, so I'm up for it if you are. I'm planning on
being at the Sleightsburg Ramp 6:45AM. Let me know, so I can set my plans in
stone. Reply here, as my email server is just about like that tree in my back
yard. Dead.

So Phil and I went to the Hudson today. I guess all the rest of the
Northeastern ROFB guys were busy. Or wimps.

Anyway, we caught a load of fish, mostly drop shotting. Phil learned to
drop shot, and is now very comfortable with the technique. He didn't make
10 cast with anything else all day long. I threw a grub some, and caught
some nice fish on it, too. But the highlight of the trip for me (other than
meeting a new fishing buddy from the ROFB) was the 5 fish I caught on a
jerkbait. I threw a couple of Pointers in the box on a whim last night, and
tied one on today. First cast with it I hooked and lost a fish, then got 4
in 6 casts. Later I came back to the same spot and got one on my 1st cast
with the jerkbait again. This in 42 degree water, in mid-November in the
north. Cool.

I'll have to reserve comment on that because I am a rather new guy here and
still want to make friends (lol).

Thanks again Rich for all your help in learning a new technique that I am
sure will benefit me in the future.

I still can't believe those fish hit that bait in water that cold but the
proof is in the pudding (or the bass in this case).
In closing I'd just like to thank you again Rich for a great day. I can say
without hesitation that if any of the guys in the newsgroup ever
get an opportunity to go fishing with Rich, that they should jump at the
chance. He outfitted me with all the tackle I needed for drop-shotting,
provided
the boat and some great company. I look forward to sharing a boat with you
again.

Phil
P.S. Hope you clean house on those crappies tomorrow.
