For everyone answering this post go to..
ANGLERWORLD.COM, then click Bass Fishing Home Page. Once that comes up
click on the "Fishing Tactics" board. Scoll down to the post marked
"BASSMASTERS CLASSIC" and read what other people are saying about Mike

You know I watched the same program and I found nothing wrong with the way
Mike reacted. I would have probably done cartwheels across the stage,
screaming at the top of my lungs, pumping my arms and flashing the #1 sign.

Actually, I thought about it. My biggest fear would be that I'd win it, and
because of my mind blowing excitement, drop dead on the stage from a major
heart attack. But I guess that would be the second best way to die.
Besides, you know that one would go down in history. "Man Wins The Big Show
and Dies On Stage Accepting the Trophy!"

I am not an Iaconelli fan for a few reasons, but I am not sure what instance you are referring to? Was it when he caught his fish and pumped his fist?
Or the ending when he was announced the winner? Van Dam went nuts on stage when he won, jumping up and down. Yelas did not. I am not sure how I would react after winning the biggest tournament there is. Given Iaconelli's character I was not surprised how he reacted , but can you really fault him for being excited. Was he acting for the cameras? Possibly, but I have seen him on other shows and he seemed to act the same way no matter what. So I guess I presented more questions than answers, because I just don't know what to think about the whole thread.
On one hand you don't want people suppressing your true feelings, yet you don't want someone acting out just because of the audience.

My opinion of Mike Iaconelli remains the same. He made a complete and
total ass of himself. You never saw Yelas, Van Damm, or Hite act like
that when they won their crowns. To me the way Iaconelli acted rates
right up there with Terrell Owens(49ers-the Sharpie incident) & Joe
Horn(Saints-the cell phone)....classless.
I believe that you should act as if you've been there before. I wonder
if Iaconelli had a Sharpie on board would if he'd taken it out and
signed the fish?

Pumped his fist? He rolled around on the front deck creaming like a
complete idiot, in a blatant show of feigned enthusiasm.

Seems like it was negative attention or at least most angles feel it
was..I didn't see all of Mann's Classic winning baits in the 2004 BPS
catalog, just the jig..Maybe he used a "proto" type like Denny Brauer
did a few years ago..
I have read that in person Mike I is a calm nice guy, I am going to give
him the benefit of the doubt, like it matter's..

The Mann's Swimming Worm was out and packaged as the "Winning BASS MASTER
CLASSIC" bait in early fall.Walmart had a display and sold out fairly
quick.Didn't seem too much different than any other worms on the market but he
gave it the exposure. As for Mikes reaction or action toward winning the
CLASSIC...GO FOR IT! Celebrate however you want because you are the top gun!

Rich,

Yeah, I guess that wasn't really my point, I think that is just who he is,
and I agree I can't stand the way he is, and hope I have a shot at competing
against him eventually.
I may have down played his reaction after months of being removed from the
classic and burning that issue of bassmasters.
