Default Handle Design?

You do realize that this system is about 3 years old and is reconditioned?

$149 for an operating system? At least M$ is smart enough to make a profit.
I used to design disk drives. We sold an 15 GB drive for $50 OEM price.
And then Compaq would resell the drive in a system for a lot more. All the
disc drive companies were barely making it. Then I work for a
semi-conductor company as the apps engineer for the DD world. We closed the
division as the DD manufacturers wanted the silicon for cost or less. So
they laid us off and closed the division. At least M$ is still profitable.
And if you figure $149 is bad, I remember $25,000 per DEC VAX 780 system per
operating system copy. And I also paid (well company paid) $9000 for
Matlab. The Hardware suppliers overall are really stupid when it comes to
pricing and business. Bought a DVD player lately? High-tech hardware
suppliers are not very sensible.

$25k per liscence...go check out oracle...NOW THATS SILLY......

I'm just a big linux geek, so it irks me when I see people paying more for their
M$ crap then they're paying for their machine. And if my mom can figure out how
to use my linux box, anybody can.
