This is great! Thanks. Seeing there has been no critique of the Sage
SLT 9 foot 5 weight rod, I take that to mean it has the ROFF stamp of
trout and bronzeback approval. And with no list of suggeted
alternatives as an as good as or better rod, I guess the final
judgement is in. Thanks.

The SLT is a fine stick, one of the finer rods made but if you've not
tried a Winston BIIX, their older WT model, or a T&T Paradigm, you
might want to before writing that check.

Late entry.

I'm quite pleased with my TFO TiCR 9' 5wt.

Cheaper than a sage by far.

I'm building a 9'5wt at the moment. Hook&Hackle is selling their XT51
kits for 50% off. It looks like it's going to be a sweet rod, and at a
trivial cost. I'll build you one for $399.99 -- your choice of thread
color. :-)

Why thanks for the offer. I've checked out the H & H catalog site and
they are no selling XT51 9 foot 5 wt kits at all that I can find.
Besides more than $200.00 tarrif for labor charges and I'm undecidd and
not at all interested in their IM6 blanks. Thanks for the offer
though.

besides I'm now checking out the T&T and WInston Rods

It's not possible to build a *decent* non-bamboo rod for that amount of
money!

It looks like they've sold out of the 5 weights.

You may have gone to paree, but it seems you left your pride there. A
*used* fly rod for the greatest defense lawyer in North Cackalackie?
*USED*? Mygawd, what has happened to you? Did those western bastids
"change" you?

Buy a Winston LT5 6weight. It will fit in your carry-on luggage, cast
anything a NC lawyer has, and you can use it not only on any western
waters, but in Alaska and Labrador too. Cost: $655, which should
take you about two hours to earn!

"I am in the market for a used 9'5wt." I'll buy it for you rather
than see you beg on roff! What has this place come to?

Louie (who would rather have a Peter Charles streamer stuck in my eye
than beg in this nut house)

sadly, i have fallen upon hard times, of late. by a bizzarre
combination of coincidences, almost every one of my clients for the last
several months have been retired navy rank and file, who have been arrested
in juvenile attempts to scam little old ladies up and down i-85; *******s
have stiffed me on the fee, without exception.

surely you can understand my plight...

You need a "higher" class of clientele. I suggest you switch to those Air
Force guys, even though the number of those in need of your professional
talents is exponentially smaller than the squidlies in the same boat, so to
speak.
