The Danvise is a pretty nice vise on a budget. The only thing is that it's
plastic ("composite" or "delrin" or whatever). In other words, nice
plastic, but not metal, and some people might or might not appreciate solid
metal. I own that vise and think it's a very good deal, but if I had $200 I
would have bought a better vise.

Just wanted to add that I'll be headed to Cabelas, in Hamburg PA the first
week of Feb. That's about a 4hr drive one way so it would be a good time
to pick it out if they have a model worth having.

From Cabelas I'd probably go for the DynaKing Barracuda Junior for $220.

Jeffc,

Thanks for the input and if you didn't happen to read my latest posts - I
ordered the Peak (full kit) directly from
www.peakfishing.com . When I ordered it, I was told they were stacked up
with orders and it wouldn't be until
Feb 3rd at the earliest before they could ship. I mentioned it was going to
be a gift and needed it the week of
Feb 3rd. They said they would see what they could do. Next day, I was
notified they shipped one out so my
gift will be on time.

Thought that was pretty decent of them. It was good to hear that their vise
is in such high demand. Must be cabin
fever getting to all the fly tiers........;-)

Thanks,

Bob S.
