Mind boggling stuff. I've tried all those shots with Brownings,
Winchesters, Remingtons, American Arms and a host of others. Didn't
work. Never realized how superior Benellis are. Gotta get one.

They may be great for shooting clays, but could you hit a duck with one?

Well, I've hit ducks with with sticks, golf clubs, bricks, garbage
cans, bowling pins, muffin pans, walnuts, lead pipes, a frozen cat,
automobiles, forks, rocks, TV trays, books and coaxial cable. Messy
business. Not sure I'd want to do it with a presumably very expensive
shotgun.

Shot any fish lately ? :-)

Bill

Not as easy as it sounds. For one thing, there's that whole
refractory index thingy.....makes it very difficult to lead them
properly. Besides, the first round pretty much puts the rest of the
fish down; time to move to the next pool. Lots of hiking and very
expensive, what with the cost of steel shot. And then, even when you
hit one of the blighters, what's left ain't fit for much but the meat
grinder and fish patties.

Wayno can translate the first bit - the "arbenig" is "special." the
adjective comes after the noun in Welsh.

Well Frank,

The Twll bit is extremely difficult to express phonetically (btw I spelt it
wrong there's ony one t) Its the double l - "ll" that is dificult. It's a
non sound created by plceing the tonguw up behind the top front teeth and
exhaling. It#'s easy for a Welshman :-)
The dyn bit is pronounced as "dean"

The arbening is pronouinced as

ar - R
ben- ben
ig as in igloo.

There would be a slight emphasis on the ben, in Welsh we emphasis the last
but one sylable. ar BEN ig = special.

I don't watch much television, but I used to catch Mythbusters every
once in a while. Seems to me like the ideal job......blowing stuff up
and all that.

The bullets underwater thing isn't much of a revelation. I believe
that was already pretty well understood. However, I suspect a shotgun
blast at close range in shallow water would probably do the job well
enough. How shallow? Hard to say. I'd guess anything less than 24
inches or so. Can't think of anything that would overcome ethical
objections to doing the experiments......but it's kind of fun to
speculate over.
