Oh, what the hell...

Oh look at Mr. Negative coming in here and trying to be fricken Sherlock Holmes and figure out why I am posting a poll, and that I have some big evil scheme behind it! What are you, the damn poll police? Yes. Remember - if you ask a dumbass question, you'll get a smartass answer... you wrote: In that case....with you being a writer and all, not to mention one with a vast 18 months or so of FFing under your belt, is there any chance you are trying to cobble together a "gimme," not to mention approach vendors with the story/information, hoping for freebies? Get a life pal-- and what difference does it make how long I have been fly fishing? The reason I am taking this poll has nothing to do with writing genius, and if you would have just asked me kindly instead of conjuring up some negative "bull#$%* I would have kindly explained. I did ask - twice. In fact, the first word of my initial reply was "Why" followed by a question mark, in direct response to your question, "I am curious what your favorite fly rod is?" While some might find my method of inquiry rather direct, labeling it "unkind" seems a bit excessive, and in any case, most generally except "why?" as an indication that the person making the aforementioned query is asking for an explanation. The "kindly" would be optional, I guess... You don't have to drag your pathetic depressed negativity onto this bored just because you need attention. I don't? FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST!!! THANK GAWD ALMIGHTY, FREE AT LAST!!! @$$holes like you are getting old on these newsgroups. Didn't your mommy teach you, that if you don't have anything nice to say, than don't say it! No, she didn't, but she did teach me that this isn't a "bored" or even a "board," that only silly little assholes use "@$$holes," and something else...now, what was it, what was it... you also wroteMust be a tough thing for a writer...always remember, words and grammar, um, is your friends...and BTW, Orvis makes more than 2 rods only, particularly (and in general) in the T3 series...only... For one, your words barely even make sense, I'm glad you understand, then... and two--I am very aware that Orvis makes more than two rods-- genius! At least you recognize your betters... I own seven them and at least one from every series. ....oh, yeah - she taught me how to count...and no, you don't have even one, much less at least one, from every series. I am also an Orvis endorsed fly fishing guide now, I wonder how long could it possibly be before they find out... ....DAMN! Them SOBs is quick! Plugging the name "Merritt" into the Orvis system to search for guides produces "0" results... a professional fly tyer And so are lord knows how many Asian kids...all of who probably have a better command of the English language and its usage than do you... and a custom fly rod builder And so is everyone who has ever finished a fly rod...or, technically, broken one...I mean, one can imagine how difficult it would be to stick fly rods into an operating ceiling fan in _exactly_ the same way every single time... who has had much success in the sport and business, Um, was YOUR father a dashing, heroic, and magnanimous yet ever so slightly greasy teenage SaberTigger pilot, by any chance? I swear, that crusty old SOB musta been like Johnny Appleseed, pardon the pun, or something... which is the reason for this poll in the first place (to see what trends in rods are doing) not for writing some big evil industry "gimmie". Ah - so you were trying to do some (free) market research, sorta sneaky-like...so, based on the poll, who ya gonna rip o...er, emulate? And since you brought it up, writing and grammar that is; you could use a few lessons there pal. Something else your mother didn't teach you very well. Oh, she'll be crushed upon hearing that...either that, or she'll get as big a laugh out of it as I have - me, I betting on the latter - want some hard-to-resist odds on the former? I am done wasting my energy on fools like you! Well, as long as you're sure... Good day, Almost always... |

![]() Sage LL 8' 9" 3 weight Hardy De-Luxe 9' 6/7 (because it was my first proper rod, I can catch anything from little trout to salmon on it, I caught my first and many of my other Atlantic salmon on it, and I love its old-fashioned slow action) a little 6' 3" cane rod, "The Barle" built by the late Lance Nicholson, of Dulverton, in Exmoor. I love the rod as I love the river it's named after. Lazarus |

Aside from that, I don't place much emphasis on their individual characteristics except that each has its place.....they all catch fish.
