Rational evaluation of the evidence just doesn't support this kind of boneheaded behavior. Good to 'see' ya, Sandy G There is evidence that "conservative" IS a genetic condition ... I'm too lazy to search for the links on X-mas but I've read several interesting studies. * One has shown that people that call themselves 'conservative' have THREE TIMES the brain activity in areas associated with fear as others, when shown exactly the same images or other stimulation !! * * Another study *has followed individuals for years and indicates that it is possible to predict adult political leanings by observing youngsters and their interactions ... those 'destined' to conservative politics tend to be much less outgoing and, again, far more prone to fear, as children. Apparently, when 'they' engage in fear mongering, it's NOT just a political game ... they really are afraid and know their constituents really are too. * Change IS often scary, is it not? * It's probably far more so to them. Although, I've seen no studies to support this observations, I personally, have also reached the conclusion that weak mental abilities in the areas of 'empathy' and 'imagination' are strongly connected to politically 'conservative' individuals. * *I first noticed this many years ago in a discussion with a stongly conservative friend. * He simply was incapable of using his imagination and mentally inserting himself into the shoes of others, ... and it did appear to be lack of ability in those skills, not any lack of effort, or lack of 'intelligence'. * Since that conversation, I've noticed the same weaknesses in many 'right wing' people I've met. It often seems conservatives simply aren't capable of visualizing a future that is both different and better. * * Maybe their brains really are that limited and they really can't. * *Maybe we should see them as handicapped more than as simply self-serving boneheads, .... maybe it would be fairer to them and make communicating with them easier. In point of fact, the problems that beset America (and other places as well, I suppose) today have much less to do with whether people identify themselves, or one another, as conservatives or liberals, than with the fact that not one in a thousand can be relied upon to demonstrate that either term has any relevant meaning at all......let alone what that meaning might be. But then, you're not one of the multitude......right? Go ahead.....try it. g. |

With the Nation in economic distress and unemployment above 10% , the Democrats in the House Of Representatives and, now a Senate, Committee, without even knowing the content blundered thru Obama's "Cap and Tax Bill". Legislation that could well topple our economy into a depression. Pure fiscal insanity. For the Kool-aid addicts who believed Obama when he said that he would give a tax break to 95% of Americans, hold on to you wallets and prepare for the largest single regressive tax increase in American history. This "Global Warming" fraud will prove to be the biggest jobs killer ever conceived; and, simply ship millions of America jobs overseas to countries such as China and India. The next time you hear the ranting of an Obamanite, ask them why there is "NO" statistical correlation between atmospheric CO2 levels and global temperatures (the latter which actually have slightly decreased over the last decade) -and- why the temperature trend lines on Mars tracks identically with that on earth. ((Hint: the Sun is the only common denominator.)) In brief: global temperature variations correlate precisely with Solar activity. As for the sustained hype over Ice Cap melting and sea level rise, Ice core drilling in the fast ice off Davis Station in East Antarctica shows that last year, the ice had a maximum thickness of 1.89m, its densest in 10 years. The average thickness of the ice at Davis since the 1950s is 1.67m. To emphasize the importance of these statistics, Antarctica contains 90% of the world's ice pack. Now you know why the inventor of the internet, Albert Gore, refuses to debate the issue. "If" the Global Warming enthusiasts were sincere in their intent to reduce manmade CO2 emissions, which constitute less than 0.00022 percent of the total naturally emitted from the earth s mantle, they would be actively promoting the significantly expanded use of Nuclear Power for America's electrical energy generation. An endeavor intended not only to rerduce CO2, which constitutes only about 0.037% of total atmosphere gases ; but, as well, to dramatically reduce our dependence on imported energy resources; and, to provide a distributed grid with dormant interconnectivity. The logic in this dilemma is exceedingly transparent, our Dictatorial Marxist, Barack Obama, simply wants more control over your activities and lifestyle; and, the health of the American economy be dammed. It's essential that we clean house in the upcoming elections. Moron. g. |

The announcement by Alabama Rep. Parker Griffith that he is switching to the Republican Party is just the latest warning sign that the Democratic Party -- my lifelong political home -- has a critical decision to make: Either we plot a more moderate, centrist course or risk electoral disaster not just in the upcoming midterms but in many elections to come. Rep. Griffith's decision makes him the fifth centrist Democrat to either switch parties or announce plans to retire rather than stand for reelection in 2010. These announcements are a sharp reversal from the progress the Democratic Party made starting in 2006 and continuing in 2008, when it reestablished itself as the nation's majority party for the first time in more than a decade. That success happened for one major reason: Democrats made inroads in geographies and constituencies that had trended Republican since the 1960s. In these two elections, a majority of independents and a sizable number of moderate Republicans joined the traditional here is more for ya clowns...... Democratic base to sweep Democrats to commanding majorities in Congress and to bring Barack Obama to the White House. These independents and Republicans supported Democrats based on a message indicating that the party would be a true Big Tent -- that we would welcome a diversity of views even on tough issues such as abortion, gun rights and the role of government in the economy. This call was answered not just by voters but by a surge of smart, talented candidates who came forward to run and win under the Democratic banner in districts dominated by Republicans for a generation. These centrists swelled the party's ranks in Congress and contributed to Obama's victories in states such as Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado and other Republican bastions. But now they face a grim political fate. On the one hand, centrist Democrats are being vilified by left-wing bloggers, pundits and partisan news outlets for not being sufficiently liberal, "true" Democrats. On the other, Republicans are pounding them for their association with a party that seems to be advancing an agenda far to the left of most voters. The political dangers of this situation could not be clearer. Imbecile. |

Yale most memorable quotes of 2009:#1 Keep your government hands off my medicare. After citizens discovered the Obama plan to cut $550,000,000 from medicare.#4 You Lie! Wilson after repeated Obama lies on Health Care during address to Joint Session.#5 The Cambridge Police Acted Stupidly! When Major Hasan killed 13 people, Obama held a press conference at the White House urging everyone to “not make any rush to judgments.” With all the evidence about Hasan coming to light and even though the majority of Americans recognized this as a terrorist attack, Obama stood up in front of thousands of military personnel and insulted their intelligence, did he mention the word “terrorist.” Instead, Obama blamed what happened at Fort Hood on “cynicism and divisiveness” and the stress of multiple deployments. There’s something very unique in this entire situation that the state- run media has completely neglected: how Obama has reacted to various situations that have arisen during his time in office. Let’s go back to May of this year. On May 31, an anti-abortion extremist named Scott Roeder gunned down Dr. George Tiller, an abortion doctor. Almost immediately, Obama released a statement saying he was “shocked and outraged” by Tiller’s murder. Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, immediately stationed U.S. Marshals at abortion clinics across the country. A day later, on June 1, the first terrorist attack in Little Rock, Ark. was committed under Obama’s watch. Pfc. William Long, 23, and Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula, 18, were shot by a man named Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad. Obama’s reaction to this was more emotionally toned down. He did not issue any remarks until a couple days later, when he claimed he was “deeply saddened.” There were no U.S. Marshals stationed at recruiting centers, as there were at abortion clinics. Fast forward to July 26. Police in Cambridge, Mass. arrested professor Henry-Lewis Gates, an African-American professor, for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. At a press conference on health care a day later, a reporter asked Obama about his opinion on the incident. Obama said,“I don’t know all the facts…but I think the police acted stupidly.” In perhaps the only truthful thing Obama has ever said since becoming president, he acknowledged he didn’t have all the facts. But he was quick to pass judgment on white police officers arresting a black man. This is also because Obama disdains our military. As a senator, he voted to cut off vital funding to our troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and voted against the troop surge in Iraq. He is now in command of the same troops he voted to betray. As commander-in-chief, he proclaimed that the idea of victory in Afghanistan makes him uncomfortable and,for nearly three months, dragged his feet on deciding whether to send more troops to Afghanistan. Idiot. g. |
