And so it starts, the inexorable slide into senility and adult
Pampers. The first signs are seemingly insignificant; a hitch
in the step, a little top posting to roff, but the trained eye
can't help but shed a sympathetic tear.

Oh, how the mighty is falling.

yeah...well, i'll wager my dollars on the abilities of the top posting
"senile" harrison in about any effort a chambana illnoise-ian can offer
- skeet shooting with bernillis (or whatever the elite, effete shotgun
might be and however spelled), carolina trout-fishing, watercolor
painting, music (playing, composing, and knowledge), conversation,
delivery of the written word, humor, poetry of the soul, and downright
human decency... hell, i'll bet he's even better with a 7-iron. it'll be
a while before the old boy falls to your level, but keep looking
up...with your mouth open....let's see what falls in.

jeff (i know it was supposed to be a cute retort, but the "trained eye"
bull**** wears thin)

Really? Your serious. Do I need to mention that this is the same man
with the gitfiddle in front of a campfire in Montana serenading the
pre-pubescent girls church campout.

Well, that was uncalled for. But it neatly illustrates why that
particular poster occupies a spot in my killfile. Somebody needs
to give that nasty bitch a Midol.

You gotta give him North Carolina style points for his Elizabeth
Cotton playing style.

ah, a mirror can be difficult business, called for or not...i don't
fault you for looking away. a spot in your killfile...that's a hoot.
pudge, if you've any midol to spare, send them on.

give him a go if you choose...bring your best guitar, a rested voice,
and every song you've composed (words and music)... we'll tally the
votes. and, i forgot to add "warmth of character" and "charm" to the
original wager... thanks for reminding me...

the alarming part about this thread is that these things usually don't
appear until after the subject thereof has become a decedant.

truth is, jeffie, you are defending a much younger man than the one writing
this note. but i am still grateful beyond belief.

gimme a call if anyone threatens to pop a cap in yo' ass...
