I wrote a Gospel song once, and performed it at the "Gold Guitar awards" a
big thing down here in NZ. They reckon it was one of the best attendances at the gospel section though they tempered with the stat that at least 80% of the corwd was there just to see if I got blown off the stage by a lightning bolt... kinda like posting on ROFF really ![]() The chorus for the song was something like... (It's been a while...) "Out in the great outdoors, is where I say my ptrayers and the gifts he gives me everyday, shows me that he cares. I don't claim to know his bibkle or the foundations that he laid so I give my thanks to him in the places that he made" or something like that.... -- Clark Reid http://www.dryflynz.com Umpqua Designer Flytier "Big Dale" wrote in message ... IN NZ and Aussie if someone says you are a "Cracker".. it means you are

Historically yours, R I always thought the term "cracker" came from the practice of cracking corn to make liquor. AFAIK, the precise origin and connection isn't known, and, probably, several usages were used simultaneously. There's also the theories that it comes from the earlier English term for braggart, and that it actually comes from, well, crackers (the eating kind, like what Linda uses for his hors d'oeuvres). But given what APPEARED Deepstick was pecking out about "salves," he was relying on the "whip-cracker" theory of origin. TC, R |

Good grief, I wouldn't have thought it possible but there IS a crazy white trash cracker who is both crazier than Chester AND able to post to roff. Would be nice if they could meet up and beat each other senseless, but there wouldn't be much entertainment value since they're both senseless anyway. -- Ken Fortenberry |
