up there, it was foggy
as ****, and rainin pretty good- but there was no turning back now. i was
itchin to get into the water, and fish. i put a caddis on my line, and cast
it under some over-hanging laurels, thinking that might be a good hiding
place for fish. not five minutes in i had a bite. it was a gorgeous red
breast sunfish, t a little bigger than the size of my hand. i cast my line
back out , and between changing flies, and changing venues, it must have
been a good hour and a half of standin knee deep in water in the pouring
rain before i got another bite. i had moved downstream into some water that
was a little deeper, and heavily covered in laurels bushes. these wading
boots are great- they let me go into this rocky **** we have here, and get
just where i need to be to cast my line where i want it. bingo. here i
caught two more sunfish and two trout. the trout, however, were nothin to
brag on. they were only about five inches long. by now, i was thinking i
might should switch to a larger fly- larger catches? but as i tried to tie
my fly, i realized my hands were so cold that i couldn't even tie! so, i
headed home, my cap soaked through, my hair wet, and my shirt, vest, and
jacket soaked. i sit here shivering as i write this, and ready to get into
a nice hot shower (no, i'm not flirting :} ), and have a cup of hot coffee.
after studyin a bit for school, i think i will head back out this evenin.
this fishin stuff is great! thanks for hookin me up, frank!

damn, i didn't even go out in today's mess.... good fer you girl.

I think this thread is a typical Roffian one in that it wanders all over
the place and has some little jokes in it but it also provides some very
good information mixed in.

Rule out Fortenberry. He is an equal opportunity asshole. He does have
his favorites and snakefiddler is a current "favorite". I was referring
more to the responses like Tim's. It seemed light hearted, funny and
wasn't mean spirited. It was, to me, a logical response to
snakefiddler's "flirting."

i love this ****. i love the way it feels when i have a fish on the line, i
love the feel of the water swirling around my legs. this morning when i was
out, i was alone, and because of the ****ty weather, the tourists and their
noisy dogs were absent from the park, and the mist was rising off of the
water, and the air smelled sweet from all the wet trees, and shrubs, and
what-not, and it was like i was in some mystical place, and the rest of the
world had disappeared. what's not to love. i just got back in from round
two. :-)
