Who says I'm a liberal?

Not I. I'll revise it "selectively hearing what you want to hear."
I'm just used to hearing the complaint from excessively liberal
friends.

Or perhaps my hearing casts a wider net than your comfort range -- the
symptoms would feel the same to you.

Absolutely. Or something entirely different. Or we're both wrong.
Or we're both right. All sorts of good possibilities.

Wolfgang asks:
The first interesting point related to the vacuous brouhaha over the missing
explosives. Anyone care to guess where the stuff went?

I figure it will turn up on EBay eventually.
That is, if some wingnut group with a couple of decent physicists didn't siphon
off a quarter-ton or so to pair with some plutonium and enriched uranium.

and the administration preyed on that -- deliberately. The people
didn't come by this opinion out of thin air.

It all boils down to the fact that you give "the people" more
credit than I do. Nothing wrong with that IMHO.

During the debates (one of them, I forget which) Bush point-blank
said SH did not attack us. People still believe what they want
to.

EOT for me,

Ah, so the U.N. took nearly 400 tons of explosives and is hiding the booty?
Yeah, that would be characteristic.

It's no more or less stupid than your theory. Both are rediculous.
