We's got lots of "wealthy rulling class" on board roff. d;o) damn...how did i get in this one? other than being born in england, about as close as i've been to "the ruling class" was to see the movie with Peter O'Toole (i really admire the actor and his name). if you haven't seen it, go rent the vid...let him show you his "godhead", and i'll wager you'll feel better after the viewing. in today's "unconfirmed" news bite, our troops apparently shot and killed a family of innocents...including 2 children. One of the survivors told Reuters the family was traveling from Balad, a town about 50 miles north of Baghdad, to the nearby city of Baquba for a funeral...they simply didn't expect it to be their own i guess. imo, we will never be able to handle the mess over there in any legitimate, moral, or dignified way. btw, did you see the news of the recent report on charitable giving? it states (albeit, on shaky statistical grounds) that Southerners are the most charitable, with Northeasterners (NH is 1st, and Mass. is 2d) the most miserly. g jeff (proud to be among the aging serfs, and all-too-aware of the undeserved and unearned grace that is my life...) |

: nor has Bush/Cheney been involved with any oil shenanigans. You owe me one keyboard! Shenanigans started when Cheney refused to put his Haliburton holdings into blind trust (despite the "insurance policy" he purchased to fool the masses), and continued, apparently, when he formed his energy task force. As far as I'm concerned, the main goal of this administration has been to steal the people's money, for generations to come, and to give it to their buddies. If this isn't what their goal was, that's what the effect has been. Clinton's 12 mill, if its even real, is positively chump change compared to how much Darth Cheney and folk have gotten away with (they do think big!!). Can you tell me with a straight face, comparing Cheney's net worth when he took office to his current worth, that there is not, at the very least, the strong suggestion of a real conflict?? At least this administration almost guarantees us that the next President will be entirely altruistic-- as there's nothing left to steal. -- Scott Reverse name to reply |

Chuck Vance Just because I have a partner that lives in Baton Rouge (who suffered no damage during the hurricane) doesn't mean I own property in the area. I don't. However, I could get you a good deal or two on some waterfront property in Waveland or Diamond Head, MS. d;o) Dave |

Or is that another of those things about which you'd rather not say? ![]() I helped pay for two RVs and drove one down to Waveland for people to use while volunteering their help. We helped out with flooded homes/buildings by washing down the studs/beams with a solution to kill the mold (the walls/ceilings/floors had been pulled apart and thrown away). We also distributed supplies (water, toilet paper, food, blankets, etc.). There was six of us, five men and one women, and we ranged in age from 65 to 75. And, further, I had a bowl of oatmeal and raison toast for breakfast, a ham sandwich for lunch, took a nap between 3 and 4, and have had two bowel movements since I got up this a.m. Anything else? |

I should think that MA would be first because of the leadership of Kerry and Kennedy, both known for sewn up pockets. |
