Incidentally, your continuance of this rubbish in this thread belies
your ostensibly pious intentions.

No need to worry though, based on your past performance, most doubtless
assumed you were a hypocritical idiot anyway.

while i think i recognize most of the issues, i'm also bewildered by the
the motives and/or need for certain posts in this forum...mine included.
for me, reading a logical, thoughtful post about the issues is
generally accepted and persuasive, even when sardonic in tone. once the
personal insults and name-calling begin, i think the power of rational
ideas are lost on most readers. of course, if sport's the game...one can
become a player or not. some like dodgeball, others don't. some enjoy
watching a fistfight, others don't.

Well, the short response to this characteristically (considering the
source) thoughtful set of observations is.....yep.

I won't bore you with the predictable, or further confuse the
****-weasels with an incomprehensible, long version.

It's crystal clear to me that LaCourse was attempting to bait his
"enemies" by posting this thread. Wolfgang, predictably, went for it. I
had no intention of of replying to LaCourse's troll -- until he brought
up my name, for no apparent reason other than accelerating the baiting.

LaCourse is the most completely perfect ****head I've ever come across.
He stoops so low as to use his nephew's death to attempt to score points
on ROFF.

Why on earth would I hope to score points on roff? This is some kind
of competition? I posted the news of my nephew the day after I
received the news of his internment in Arlington. It was an obituary,
not some point thingy that only YOU would think it to be. You truly
are a pitiful man, Barnard, truly pitiful.

This post is definitive.

This one will be filed away and referenced from time to time
whenever someone wonders why I would refer to Steve Barnard
as a ****in' putz.

You know what you did, and you have to live with it.

I seek no attention, especially from you and Wolfgang. Fortenberry
spotted you for what you are long before the rest of us did. I
expected nothing more than what you and Wolfgang gave. You truly are
as pitiful as Wolfgang.

I've got a nephew. He must be.....oh, thirty or so by now, I guess.
When he was younger......much younger.....we once had a talk about
career opportunities......what he should do for aliving when he grew
up....you know, that sort of thing. I told him he should be all that
he could be.......one of the few, the proud. I told him it's not just
a job, it's an adventure. I told him he should travel the
world......for FREE! I told him about wonderful benefits. I told him
they were looking for a few good men. I told him about honor. I told
him about glory. I told him about heroism.

He didn't listen.

What a ****up.

Oh, sure, he's alive.....no widow......no orphaned children.....hasn't
killed anybody that I know of.

But he actually WORKS for a living.

What a ****up!

Say, did you ever have one of those talks with your nephew?

What did you tell him?

Wolfgang

" War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed
and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks
that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has
nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more
important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature,
and has no chance of being free unless made or kept so by the
exertions of better men than himself."
