Chas is the resident ROFF pike expert. He ties some amazing pike flies.
I have one, which is more-or-less impossible to fit neatly into my
largest flybox. I'm going to try it on tarpon in April.

Hm......

I'm new to reading and writing, but not to reading and writing in English.

Does any one have some neat Pike flies.

Roadkill,

Although this page is in swedish http://www.gagnekulla.net/pikefly/ there
are some neat pictures of the one and only fly that the guy uses, and how to
tie it. He catches a lot of pikes each year and is only flyfishing. Take a
look.

He's a dedicated guy! 60 trips a year, all reported with pics. Like to
go fishing with the guy. I'm sure he knows his stuff.

Kevin Vang built a great page for our clave a couple years ago,
http://www.misu.nodak.edu/%7Evang/PikeClave/

That's a great place to start.

One thing I'd add to what I've read in your other responses is that 8
inches of wire just isn't enough if there are any big pike around.
They can inhale a fly and have it a full foot down their throat. I've
seen 6 or 8 nice fish lost because fishermen (including myself once)
have settled for 8 inch leaders instead of tying a new one.
