Default Teams hooking spots in National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship

More than two dozen colleges have registered to send teams to the first

National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship, being presented by Fox
College Sports on Oct. 19-21 at Lewisville Lake. Fox will broadcast 19
hours of prime time television coverage of the tournament.

Schools committed to the event already include such notable campuses as

Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Stephen F. Austin State University, Oklahoma
University and other large and small colleges from around the country.
Each school is able to enter one two-person team at this time, although

several schools have expressed interest in entering additional teams if

there is room in the tournament field.

"We're proud to present the National Collegiate Bass Fishing
Championship as another example of FCS's commitment to college fans
across the country," said Fox College Sports General Manager David
Rone. "We have found that there is a tremendous amount of interest in
fishing at the collegiate level and we look forward to showcasing this
event."

The first 50 two-person teams to register online through
www.foxcollegesports.com earn guaranteed spots in the event. The
deadline for registration is midnight on Sept. 15. The full field will
fish during the first two days of the competition, and the five teams
boating the highest cumulative weight will advance to the finals on
Oct. 21. All teams begin anew in the finals.

The five schools participating in the finals will hare $25,000 in prize

money, which will be presented to each university's fishing club.
Each team also will receive a plaque commemorating their achievement,
and the winning team members' names will be engraved on the FCS
National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship trophy.

Wade Middleton will host the FCS telecasts, with analysis from bass
fishing experts Luke Clausen, Kelly Jordan and Jeff Kriet. Clausen is a

past Bassmaster Classic and FLW Tour champion. Jordan is a BASS Elite
and FLW Tour angler with four BASS and FLW wins to his credit. Kriet is

a BASS Elite angler and has qualified for the Bassmaster Classic three
times. The event is being produced for FCS by Careco Multimedia.

This will be the fourth major fishing event held on Lewisville Lake
during an 18-month span, starting with a Bassmaster Elite 50 event in
June 2005 and including both the Women's Bassmaster Tour preview
event last October and an inaugural-season WBT event in May.

Lewisville Lake is located 15 minutes north of downtown Dallas along
Interstate 35E. Created in 1954 on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River,
the lake covers nearly 30,000 acres of surface area and reaches depths
of up to 67 feet. Lewisville Lake is rated as "excellent" by Texas
Parks & Wildlife for catfish, crappie and white bass, and "good"
for largemouth bass and striped/hybrid bass.

Tournament launches and weigh-ins will be held at Sneaky Pete's
Resort, #2 Eagle Point Marina in Lewisville. The lakeside facility
includes full-service restaurant and bar, beach area, outdoor swimming
pool, sand volleyball, boat slips, and live music on the weekends. Days

and hours of operation are seasonal. For information, call (972)
434-2500.
