June 12th is Arizona's Free Fishing Day

Arizona allows anglers to fish without a license on public waters within the
state of Arizona on Free Fishing Day. This year (2004) that day is June
12th. In additiona fishing work shops are being hoste by the arizona Game
and Fish Department at several locations through out the state.

There's a table on my website listing Free Fishing Days for every state. In
most states, I believe you must be a resident to fish free, though.

I just spent a month in Phoenix and then come home and what do they do?!!!!
Have the free fishing day after I left....hrmmmmfpt!

How about a free fishing year? Texas... (of course, it HAS to be
bigger)... declared a free fishing year within it's state parks from
Labor day 2003 until August 31, 2004. This applies only within the state
park system, and size and bag limits do still apply, but it allows
someone to fish without buying a license.
