I certainly feel closest to God when I'm fishing, and I can think of a whole
lot worse things than religeon that are being "pushed" on society these
days. I see no difference in the Lindner's actions then that of a football
player crossing himself after scoring a touchdown. It's all about the right
to express ourselves any way want & the right to worship any way we want,
Two of many rights we all have as Americans.

Thank God for that.

Happy Holidays to the ROFB crew.

I was just perusing the new Linder brothers website
and I got curious about religion is it me or are they now
really into the religion thing? I would not knock it at all to each their
own and all and I always knew that the in fisherman was a Christian
publication but the new edge stuff seems to have "come out of the closet"

as
far as religion goes.
what bothers me about it and it is a very small bother is that it very
subtly being pushed which I disagree with.
anyone else feel that way?

No, I do not object to the Linder's site, their belief, or the way they
promote it. In fact, I support them and their cause.

Nice thing about being an American, you have the right to speak your mind
and if you don't like something, you can simply turn your back to it. In
this case, I choose to not too.

In GOD we trust,
GOD Bless America,
Now let's go fishing!

ok I did not want this to become a fishing vs. religion topic
I was just wondering if it bugged anyone else, I have a deep respect for the
Linders and over the years have learned alot from them. religion does
nothing for me PERSONALLY, as I said to each their own but what my question
was does it bug anyone else that it is being offered up in this fashion it
isn't being pushed and it would not stop me from watching them
but for instance if I wanted one of their caps they offer for sale on the
site it has a huge fish and cross on it so basically they are
shooting for the religious fisherman? or pushing their beliefs on there
audience which I personally feel is wrong.
this was not meant to be off topic or even a slight against religion.
religion to me is a personal thing and what you believe is what you believe
noone has the right to say otherwise.
so to those that were offended I do apologize it just made me curious is
all. lets get back to fishing

I too think religion is a personal thing and does not belong in a
business situation or on a bass fishing news group..I am amazed that so
many "religious" people are mean spirited. I was gong to say more but I
got knocked off line and I took that as a warning..grin

Catfish Charlie Summers is the group's resident catfish expert. I'm sure
that he can help you put some catfish back in your live well, especially if
you are trying to target bass.

I am??? I guess since the departure of Rodney, I can step in.

Catfishing while diguising it as bass fishing is one of the hardest
techniques that I have ever tried to learn. Just think about how many of
them nasty ole bass you have to keep releasing just to put one whiskered
fish in the livewell! Whew... Maybe I'll get Al to help me write a book
about the subject.

As far as religion and bass fishing is concerned, if you believe, then
believe. If you choose not to believe, then don't believe. But for goodness
sakes and to prevent a new holy war... just keep it to yourself. If
something offends you... change the channel or the subject. I know I'd
rather spend the day with someone that wanted to talk fishing than someone
who was trying to convince me that their religion was better than mine.

I think I will stick with bass fishing, bass fishing with catfish reels,
What SW spinnerbait would you recommend for catfish? I have caught some
nice cat's on crankbaits but not recently..I was using Shimano reels
then..My Abu's reels have religious parts, one clip is called a "jesus
clip" when it flies off, at least that's what I say .
