Default Humminbird Matrix Fishing Systems Question

Hello Everyone.
It's been a long winter but Spring is finally here in NH.
I'm getting the boat ready for the upcoming season and of course I need to
do some upgrades. I am looking into buying the Humminbird Matrix 37 system.
I want to equip my boat with two fishing systems one for the front (bow) and
one for the back (stern). A guy I know has the Matrix 27 in the front and
the Matrix 37 in the back. I am thinking of installing the Matrix 37 in
both the front and the back. What are your thoughts or recommendations? As
always any information is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!
Shawn

I bought a boat recently and was going to put the 37 on the console,
but decided it was too much info for me (with the 4 way beam) so I
changed to the 27.

For the bow, I use a Pirahana portable that I already owned from my
boat rental days, bought the permanent mount and power cable from
Humminbird, connected it to the universal transducer in my Minn-Kota
Powerdrive. I like the smaller fishfinder in the front; I locate my
spots while driving, on the 27, then use the Pirahana to stay on it
while I'm sitting up front.

So you could do it this way and save about $150, but I suppose there's
something to be said for having two identical models that would have
the same function buttons and screens, etc.

I'm pretty sure they sell the Pirahana in the non-portable versions so
you wouldn't have to bother with the conversion from a portable unit
like I did.
