I think everyone should write BASS and complain. I did! If you agree,
please pass this on as well.

Thanks,

Joe Zellmer

Well, I read the thread, and everybody seems all intent on bashing B.A.S.S.
but nobody saw fit t make it clear what exactly was promised and what was
supposedly renigged upon. Perhaps if I more clearly understood what was
going on I might be inclined to say something.

Sorry Bob,
BASS (no periods anymore) changed the venue without any warning after
promoting this for the last year. Thanks for asking for the
clarification.

Not to mention they STILL have an ad for it on the website. I hope
that makes you feel inclined. ;-) This is corporate arrogance at it's
usual. Joe Z.

Ok, so ESPN is still ****ing people off and driving anglers away. They lost
The Bass Federation over this sort of thing. Of course I found that funny
as heck since some of the state federations lost clubs over dictating to
member clubs too.

Unfortunately self serving actions are the norm for big business and
probably always will be. Sadly, this time they weren't screwing adults who
can get ****ed and have a strong direct negative impact on their bottom
line. They cheated children and broke promises. See my comments on the
conversation section on their website. I posted the same comments at
BassFan, but they have not been cleared to post yet.

This goes right along with the actions BASS took a couple of years ago
and lost most of their clubs. Both clubs I am in stuck with The Bass
Federation and are now aligned with FLW, as did 120 of the 129 clubs
in Georgia. Our youth club will be with FLW and I think those guys go
to the FLW Championship. Maybe they will change theirs, too?

Admittedly I am not completely informed on the issue of what BASS did to the
Jr's, but I am not surprised. The original concept of BASS kept it in the
hands of those who were committed to the sport; however, the sport has been
taken over by a media giant whose singular purpose is to take advantage of
whatever opportunity exists to make more money. Those of us who left BASS
(and are now affiliated with the FLW) did so, at least in part, because FLW
promised not to take things to the same place that BASS did. If BASS(under
ESPN) would abandon its paying membership, then is it so surprising that
they would badly treat a faction that reaps them little if any revenue?
