Hi all,
I will be doing lots of fishing in the Adriatic sea. I have a small zodiac
and will be going out with it. What should I get in terms of rod and
tackle?

Any advice is welcome,
Thx

Depends what you are going for and where you will be? - Here are some
of the fish around according to a Croation website
http://www.magicyachting.com/biggamefishing.asp which may give you an
idea of what tackle to go for.

All I have is a 3.10m zodiac rib with a 15hp engine. I won't be going for
monsters unfortunately.
I guess the biggers thing I can hope for is a 2 kg fish...

What should I go for?
I know nothing about rods or tackle...

Thanks

I think you'll find that that setup will be to heavy for out there. I'd
either wait until you get out there or pack a cheap light rod and fixed
spool reel. Have a look at http://www.askari-fishing.co.uk/ there's a good
choice of cheap rods here.

With the exception of Whalers,, generally speaking boat size doesn't
have much to do with the size of fish one catches. It's more dependent
on where you fish and what you fish with (bait and gear.)

If you don't anticipate anything larger than 2kg i would suggest a
seven foot 15 pound class Ugly Stick rod (see examples at:
http://www.tackleworld.co.uk/acatalo...k_Rods_25.html
and a Shimano spinning reel that holds about 200 yards of 15 pound
test mono-line. The Shimano 6000 RE Bait Runner is a good choice. See
it at:

Thanks

I would suggest a 7ft 6in 12/20lb class rod will be ample

Shakespeare do a nice basic reel called a Neptune with or without level
wind. (I have had one for 4 yrs now and still going strong)

Penn or even better ABU rods are good, depends what your budget is.

I would suggest max 20lb line.

This outfit would at least get you started, you could always use an uptide
rod instead, which can be used from a pier or rocks if it was too rough to
get out.

Good luck

Dave
