Unfortunately too many people with Web sites have tried to gain
readership and members by advertising their free stuff. It's not
SPAM by denotation, but has become SPAM by connotation. It's too much
self promotion done too often. Pretty soon people start to complain
to providers about it. I think that if he just cut it down to about
once a month, he'd not be annoying as many people.

This is totally aside from what I think about Web forums where one has
to be a member to use the facilities or to post in the moderated
groups. I've gone a round with him on that aspect. He seems to be a
nice guy, but manners have taken second place to his mission.

First I want to thank the people that tried to defend my post. Second
I would like to say that I do not charge one cent for the years of
work that went into building something that I hoped would be helpful
for other sportsmen but I am sad to say that in every community there
are those people that aer self-opinionated, self-absorbed, and just
flat out can't get a grip on life. You people act like I was posting
a message about Viagra or God or something! If I sat up a store that
offered to give away free TVs at not one single obligation to you,
then you would be ****ed if you weren't told about it.

So to the people that care to have the YES free things in life that I
worked so hard to offer then you are more than welcome to them, but
for the ones of you that can find nothing better to do than complain
then go about your lives. Thanks and you fine sportsmen have a great
day.

I didn't say anything until it got ridiculous.

Spam is spam no matter how you package it. The objective of the spam was to get viewers to
the web site. While the spam has not risen to the abhorable abuse of Ronald L. Grossi, it
still is spam and thus news group abuse.

If you referring to me, reply to my post, not to the thread.

They are purely reference locations. They don't ask for money and provide a valuable
service.

I do not go into a news groups and say "visit these web sites".

Don't try to twist this around to make yourself look right when your wrong. You can't
compare and apple to an orange except at the fruit level.

Look at the topic of the thread and look at your original post. You are hyping the web
site. You have done so in other posts. At NO time have I hyped anti virus information on
the below sig. and there are no advertisements on them either.

Please -- discuss fishing and the methodologies to make the experience better and improve
the catch rate.
Please -- put www.hookandsinker.com in your signature

Please -- DON'T hype the site to gain visitors.
