#1 ESPN announced yesterday that BASS will be moving its HQ from
Montgomery, AL, where it has operated since day one back in the late 60s,
to Florida. The Orlando, area, to be precise. Next to The Disney
mothership.

#2 Gambler lures (Gambler soft plastics, Bang attractant and 'Florida'
weights) has closed up shop and filed for Bankruptcy. They say they intend
to be open again in a few months, but since all their assets are on the
auction block, that may be a big cloud of smoke they're blowing.

Rich, Since Russ Bringer passed away and his partner in Bang and Gambler worms,
Mike Surman is busy with the FLW Tour, this shouldn't be a surprise. However,
Jim Taube, the origional maker of Bang, may step in and save the product. Jim
owns several business in South Florida. There may be smoke, but let's wait and
see if there is fire. I think their products are well worth saving.

Neglecting your business to fish tournaments is... well, it's not good
business.G

The Bang part of the business was auctioned off separately from the rest, so
that may well be the case. My guess is that there's little left to save in the
plastics part, but the Florida Rig sinkers represent a very valuable product
line.

Unless the bidding shot WAY up on the last day, each of these business went
surprisingly cheap.
