Fishing report///Cape hatteras over the weekend :(
Went to Cape Hatteras for some of that great fall surf fishing I've heard about. At Rodanthe, the surf was not kind to the fishermen we talked to. One guy caught a 24" Puppy drum and had given it away. Not much else going on there. We went down to "the point". Basically the SE corner of the state where the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse resides. This is an area only accessible by 4WD. This, apparently was the place to be. More fishermen per foot of beach than any other place that I know of. The few guys we talked to there said they had caught nothing all day. We decided since we had come all that way, we would get our lines wet. 4 hours of fishing didn't produce the first bite. We saw only 2 fish caught all day out there. The next day we caught a few Blues in the surf in Rodanthe. At least we didn't get skunked. db |
