Default Pigeon Lake

Pigeon Lake Alberta has been fishing very well. 22 Walleye in 2 hours by 2
fisherman. Smallest 14 inches largest 28 inches. Regs allow us to keep zero.
Why not low limits or slot limits?
I heard about a tag system on a draw. Anyone know more about this?

I am new to the province so don't know about why. There is a tag system that
allows you to keep one trophy walleye only. I also do not know what
qualifies as a "trophy". I'm in Edmonton now and know about only a handful
of lakes in reasonable driving range that even have walleye.
Coming from the east where there was similar quality of fishing but we keep
5 or 6 of our catches each day, the change of diet has been trying my
patience with the system. I rarely ever go fishing now (been 8 months plus
now since the last time) and am looking forward to going somewhere where I
can fish with a bit more freedom to keep walleye as well.
