Default barble fishing in the North East of England

The Tees and Wear have this year been producing some real mouthwatering
catches of barble to the local experts.

Most of the fish have been averaging 6lb but there have been no less than
six different doubles that have graced the bank of the Tees in Co Durham the
most noted one, a barble of 13lb 7oz on the opening couple of days of the
new season.

The Wear in Co durham has produced some good barble captures also, with no
less than five barble going over the magic 10lb mark.

These areas seem to be kept close to the anglers chests though and it has
been hard to locate the areas where these fish have been comming out.
Halibut pellets are doing the business up here with asorted meaty flavoured
bollies also scoring.

J A Sear
Co Durham.

Are they a special North Eastern type of Barbel then?

You'll have Matt Hayes rushing up there to catch a new species if you're not
careful
