Am I perverted?

I have been told by my better half that she does not think it is a
normal thing for a grown man to be caressing and talking to his fishing
rods come every Late winter........I live in the Albany area of upstate
NY and winters are rather long. Do any of you other Fly fisherman do
this?.....I said to my wife that maybe I should follow the leadership
of our recently past NYS governor instead..................go on a
trip to Washington DC and have my rods caressed by someone
else..............F/T

Yep, that´s perverted, but at least it is harmless. A fishing rod is
just a fishing rod, a wife is a "thing of beauty, and a joy as long as
it lasts"

Try talking to your wife a bit more, you can always get another
fishing rod, getting a wife is harder, quite apart from any specific
properties the present incumbent may embody.

Of course, you will only come to realise these when they are no longer
extant. You will probably buy a "new and improved" fishing rod every
time the marketing guys manage to convince you that such an expensive
step is absolutely essential to your continued health and wellbeing.

You should take her fishing.

You can also quite easily just get rid of a fishing rod you don´t
like, and obtain a new model. They dont ask you how old you are in the
tackle shop, only if your credit card is valid.

That's just stupid.

be talking to your the entire collection of flies.

Fishin Technician


Well pal, I have what I call my fishing shack. It is actually a mother -
in - law cottage out back, or a guest house, or what ever you want to call
it. It is decorated entirely with a fishing motif, posters and rods and
what not.

China cupboards display old rods and reels and various memorabilia for ROFF.

It also houses my stereo, adcom amp, arum cantus speakers and at
times....when the cabin fever gets too bad, I visit the little house with a
handful of CD'S, a case or two of beer and a bottle of bourbon.

When I return to the big house, I am usually a little shaky....have an upset
stomach...and swear on my mother's grave (thank god she still lives) that I
will never do it again.

So, rather than have your wife fret over your eccentricities, just tell her
you are going to visit your old buddy John for a while....

.....and when you return, she will be glad to see you talk to
....ummmm....your....rod.....(I don't want to go there....)
