Default Prohibition On Felt Sole Wading Shoes ?

Hello,

Just read that Vermont prohibits felt for wader bottoms.

Huh ?

No idea how long it's been this way in Vt.

Other states also ?

Why ?

If I now go fishing in Vt, am I supposed to buy new wading shoes.
I just can't see what environmental damage felt on the show bottom can
possibly cause.

Anyone know anything about this ?

Didymo (rock snot), mud snails and whirling disease can all be
transported to a stream via felt-soled wading boots.

Most everybody who fly fishes knows about this. Except you,
apparently.

For that reason and better traction than just A vibram or vibram type
sole - sticky or not sticky- Is why I will buy $239 alum bar boots
I dont want to take cleats on & then off for a guide boat
$239 is a lotta $$ for boots but.. I dont want to be swept to sea

At least someone will find me to steal my boots
