Good Lord, it's getting bad up here. We had a morning of freezing rain
mixed with snow, and I decided around noon that I should probably see about
busting up some ice build-up on the front walk.

I walked out the front door and in between the front porch and one of the
"ornamental" bushes planted out front, there stood an adult whitetail doe,
nibbling away on the now decimated shrub. She stood there, watching me as I
walked across the porch, said in a loud voice "Get out of there!" and
whacked her on top of her noggin with the flat of my hand!!!!

She WALKED away, stood in front of the neighbor's house and looked offended
that I would interrupt her session at my salad bar! I don't know who's
worse, the deer for allowing me to get that close or me for slapping her?

I really think I need to go fishing.

How does air temps in the 70s, water temps in the low 60s and a stiff breeze
to help orient the fish sound? Come on down Steve. We will have to take
the tin boat becasue the Opti on the Cat blew the other day and is in the
shop getting a
new powerhead. Still I have had some of my best days fishig out of the
little tin Whacko.

It sounds great, but I have to use my limited vacation time for things like
going to get my new boat, fishing the MTC, running the NWC and other things
like hunting and filming.

It's so close you can taste it right Steve? You sound a lot like me. I stop
answering calls and refuse to return calls when the temps slowly start
rising. Knowing I will be fishing soon. I really want to be out fishing in
the worst way. Winter is just killing me

Oh yeah, and that little tease that I had when I went down to Miami almost
makes it worse! If I had my boat, I'd be shoveling a landing clear on the
river!

Steve, I would bring my snow blower :}

C'mon over, you're more than welcome to sit on the porch and wait for her to
come back. I'm sure she will.

I've got about 5 weeks left untill I head up north to open up the
cottage for the summer. I can hardley stand to wait any
longer, especially since that 1st month of fishing is the best of the
year. Hogs up north & 100 smallies a day on St. Clair !!!

The deer here are like rats with hooves, more deer here than NYC has
pigeons, at least I wasn't attacked by turkeys again
