Uh, Rick? You seem never to have ever SPAMmed before, so it's just a
new product enthusiasm error, but it's best not to try to sell things
in conversational groups. It's a cute product. When I deja / Googled
you I could see how much work you've put into it. If you'd put 20
minutes of that work into reading the newuser newsgroup or the
Nettiquette Web page, you'd not have made this error.

The ideal in conversational newsgroups is that you interact with the
group. You have your web page and maybe a line or two of text ad in
your sig file and that's all. You don't come on and post about your
product. I realize that seems harsh, but think how many ads we'd get
if that weren't the protocol. There are for-sale groups that you can
outright advertise in, if that's any help.

Since then nearest thing you've done to SPAM before was to tout your
page when someone asked about canoe outriggers, there's no way you'd
have been told.

Lest you think that this is just about rec.outdoors.fishing.fly, it's
true of all conversational groups. A little reading, a call or email
to your ISP or asking someone more experienced will confirm this for
you.

Good luck with sales on your product. It's cute. It may even be
great.

Often taunted by trout.
Only a fool would refuse to believe in luck. Only a damn fool would rely on it.

But can it possibly compare to the cricket gun?
