I have been looking for a good intermediate line
I do not want the clear version as its too difficult for me to see with the
leader
I want to be about 1 1/2 to 2 feet below at most times
I cannot find one for less than $70
Any ideas - Thanks in advance

What about a slow sink tip. Maybe a Type 3. Would that drop the fly
deeper than you want?

Yes it would go deeper because it would keep sinking

Thanks

Type 1 seems to have the same sink rate as intermediate.
SA makes a Type 1 Full Sink line.
