Yes, and we will always know who you are.

I will not call you a moron. I can see now that you are mentally challenged.

My philosophy is not to get into an argument with the mentally challenged.

End of subject on my behalf.

Moron! Well, I guess you are right.

See there ? I just knew we could agree on something.

I just wanted this group to know who they were dealing with. Now I, and
the rest of the group can just disregard your posts as they have nothing
to contribute to the nice people here.

Well, you could have disregarded my posts *before* you started
in with the name-calling, but where's the fun in that ? As for
contributing here, you're right I don't have much. I don't own
an outboard motor, a trolling motor, any electronic fish finders
or even a pick up truck. But I can catch bass on a fly rod and
on those admittedly rare occasions when that topic comes up I
do try my best to be helpful.

You know, I have to admit that Al is a better person than you, Dang, even
Rodney is. Have a nice miserable life. Now, go away twit.

And you're one of the *nice* people here ? Well, I'd sure hate to
meet the ones who aren't nice. ;-) As for going away, no, I don't
think so. I've been here on and off since this newsgroup was spun
off of rec.fishing and I'll be here on and off for as long as I
damn well please. And you are *STILL* a friggin' moron.

ME TOO!!!

On Mon, 27 Dec 2004 05:32:52 -0500, "Doc \(The Tin Boat King\)"
sent into the ether:

Joe
You have my permission to spam me about SW both here and my private e-mail to your hearts content. I enjoy seeing what's up
at Secret Weapon Lures. Bill P.

I see the main problem with spamming is that they clutter up your incoming
mailbox. So in that vain, we had one generous offer for a christmas

discount
on lures, and 25+ e-mails regarding the offer....

That is email spam, not newsgroup spam. A thread can simply be ignored.

So which is worse; one that could be easily deleted or FIFTY replies and
comments to sift through?

So, without the initial spam we would not have had 50 replies.

The problem is not with Joe's post, only. The thing I think Ken, and others
including myself, have a problem with is people turning this group into an
"ad group". I've seen this happen before. After time, all you will see is 50
posts about people's ebay ads and 1 post on actual fishing.

To quote the Charter: "Money-making schemes, advertising, and other types of
fishing are not appropriate in the group."

I personally don't think Joe's post was completly out of line but I respect
Ken's right to state it's "spam" (in this case, I don't think I'd agree 100%
with that statement, though).

Ah, another one of ROFB's "nice persons" heard from.
Golly, this newsgroup is just chock full of "nice persons."

Fliptail worms were made by Stembridge. The closest thing in the Creme
line was the Shimmy series (Shimmy Babe, Shimmy Gal, Shimmy Granny).
Since you specifed 6", that would be the Shimmy Babe. One of my
favorites too, in the old days. But 95% of the LM over 6 I caught
pre-1980 came on a 9-1/4" Fliptail Daddy.

Thanks to all the guys at SW lures. I could use a few more, like Joe I spend
quite a bit of time going into brush and trees to retrieve a lure..sometimes
not my own. As I looked back over 2004 a vast majority(95%) of my
spinnerbait fish were taken on SW, most of them (s Baits)were either hand
outs at the Classics or a few that were sent for an ROFB contest.

SW has done a lot for the regular members of this NG.. so those of you
who got ****ed thinking it was spam..too bad..too dam bad, especially those
who have nothing to contribute here. While I respect an individuals right to
lurk here, don't get upset at an offer for the regular members of this NG
and then start spouting your "Don't spam me crap" I know both Charles and
Joe,,they are genuinely good people. It was not a spam offer. Those that
think it is, should come down to the MTC in April and see how much these
guys do for this group. or stick around here and see how much knowledge they
contribute on a regular basis I have fished with a lot of people that post
here.... a better group I can't imagine..it's funny how most of the
objections to Joe's post came from the people that don't know any better.
Get over it, Happy New Year to everyone...wow I did it without cursing!!!!!

Merry Christmas from Bob, Charles, Joe, and all the folks at Secret Weapon
Lures. Maybe we can help make the waning days of this season a little
merrier, and brighten up your new year as well.

From the ranks of ROFB came our first field testers, prostaffers, and
customers. A number of you have promoted us with your fishing buddies and
your local tackle shop dealers, and we really appreciate it. To give
something back, we've sponsored several events ROFB Classics and host its
Web site as well. Now, we'd like to do something for individual members.

Through December 2, we're offering VIP pricing, normally for prostaffers
only, to ROFB members. To take us up on this offer, go to
http://secretweaponlures.com, and click the "ProStaff" button under
"Login"
in the top menu.

and check it out.

Hey Bob, Charles, and Joe -- Merry Christmas guys, even if I'm a few days late
here. I'm sure going to visit the website and stock up. As you know I'm a
real fan --.I'm still using some of the original prototypes from years and
years ago before the bait had a name. Hope to see you at Center Hill this
year. Joe, if you'll bring your fiddle, I'll bring a guitar and a couple of
french harps.

Sounds good, Rob. I'll even put on some fresh strings on my fiddles at the
same time I put new line on my reels for the Mid-Tenn Classic. See you then!
