lighting a Tilley Lantern
Is there an easy way of lighting a tilley lantern on the beach without using
those really long matches that blow out all the time before you've lit it? Or am i missing something obvious? Rich |

Yes you use a small clip on attachment that you put meths in to heat the
generator,do it twice,on the second time just before it goes out open the valve & hey presto, light, little time consuming but works every time & keeps the glass clean. -- Cliff. sorry I was a bit ****ed the night I replied to your post.
You can buy a gas lighter at most shops that sell cooking gear that has a long reach, just put it through the hole and spark it up, you can adjust the flame length too. Open the valve on the lamp slowly, and bingo, it should light. |

On the fuel tank, paraffin, fuel tank pressure forced through the spray wand. Spray tube preheater pipe cutting around the cup in the flare of alcohol. Export of a warm paraffin wax spray fine spray in the tube and the entrance to the dome at the top of the jet is injected into the gas mixture.
