Default go fishing in lake drummond, great dismal swamp

The Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, (in Suffolk and
Chesapeake Virginia USA as well as N.E. North Carolina USA), the
beautiful and mysterious Lake Drummond, and The Historic Dismal Swamp
Canal has something to offer everyone who loves the outdoors.

The "Refuge" has many nature trails for hikers, cyclists, bird watchers
and hunters (in season) to enjoy. Lake Drummond is a unique first time
experience for folks who kayak, canoe, fish, or have small power boats
(10 hp motor max). you have to see it to believe it. Campers can
overnight at the campground of the Army Corps of Engineers park at the
lake flood locks. shelters, grills, limited electric, and bathrooms are
available. be sure to bring your own drinking water though. part of the
intra coastal waterway, the Historic Dismal Swamp Canal carries you
from metropolitan Tidewater Virginia southward thru swamp forest and
past some of the most beautiful small towns on the east coast.

Know before you go... visit "The Great Dismal Swamp and Lake Drummond
Traders" website ( http://www.dismalswamptraders.com/ ). here you will
find news, current events, history, stories, photography, art,
resources and information that may not be available anywhere else. also
check realtime weather and water levels at the canal and lake.
See you in the "Swamp"...

....waste of time unless you like bowfin. Makes for a good day trip in a
canoe until the wind comes up, which it usually does in that big shallow
wash basin. Hit the Suffolk reservoirs instead !
