As there were various answers to the OP both against the law and that it is
legal I decided to ask the questions of the Game and FIsheries departments in Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi as these were the three states mentioned. I sent off emails asking if it was legal or illegal to each states DWF. Ill let you know the results when (if) they reply. J |

| Can regular people still send me e-mail's ? | The knowledgeable know how to de-munge an address and get the true address out of it. One good, and comical, munge is like the following where the signature will state the following... Remove CLOTHES to send email. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html http://www.ik-cs.com/got-a-virus.htm |

Thanks Jeff but you have to admit that fish in a seeded area are larger and
healthier and stronger. And as far as I know there’s no law forbidding feeding fish without fishing. RG. |

Hi, It's not illegal in Illinois to chum or put cover in the water for fish, as long as you do not litter.
Thanks! Kahuna Quote:

Kahuna Dr.D Wrote: I make my own fishing spots it places that are hared to reach for anyone with out a boat. I first scan the bottom for cover if there's none I'll place some X-MAS trees on the bottom Then on a regular schedule chum the area. This always works for me. What do you guys think. I posted to this OP some time ago, along with others (Cant take all the blame) that it was illegal in my state (MS). I sent emails to the heads of the MS, Ga, La, Alabama Fish and Game to find out the truth because many other were saying it was legal where they were. Here is the responce from head of F&G in Georgia. All the others (Whom I had to telephone) were pretty much the same. "You don't say if this will take place in public or private waters (such as a private pond or lake). There would certainly be no problem with placing trees for fish attractors into private water bodies provided that the all land owners agree. He may need to get permission before placing any trees or objects into public waters or where they might cause navigation problems. As far as chumming goes, it would be difficult and probably unnecessary to artificially feed fish in order to keep them in an area. Some people do feed fish in smaller ponds in order to get good growth rates. This is usually done with catfish and bream ponds. It would not be an illegal activity in any waters, though, probably just an unnecessary one. If he constructs adequate cover and good "attractor" areas fish might naturally begin to congregate in those areas anyway. Here is a link to fish attractor information: http://warnell.forestry.uga.edu/warn...istory%5B%5D=1 I hope that this helps. Thanks, Ted |
