Anyone know of the manufacturer or retailer?

Saw the same thing at the Denver Fly show, all those guys in the
Midwest use them.

Saw a whole bunch of guys at the Second San Juan Clave carrying their
rods by putting the butt section under the windshield wiper with the
rod going up the windshield. As seen from behind, it looks like a car
with lots of antennas sticking up. You can safely carry four rods
this way, but ya sorta get into trouble when it rains. Thirty-five
mph would be tops.

Dave

I wonder how thief-proof these devices are, should you need to take a
break and be out of sight of the car?

Nothing is "thief-proof," only "thief-resistant." IAC, based on the description
given, I'd advise not storing your Renoirs, jewelry, or good booze in it...and
if you put your Simms waders in it, some old fart in an Audi will be off with
them before you can say "Get off the ground and change your Depends, gramps..."

Thank you, and to everyone who sent private correspondence. As you
said, all is as well as it can be. We're in the baby steps mode, one
small one at a time, and keeping moving forward.
And also, since I don't have access to the names, the son-in-law
mentioned that there were some significant contributions to the
memorial fund from "some of my fishing buddies." The money will go
towards both the Capitol Shakespeare in Bismarck, the Ehlers-Danlos
National Foundation, and, hopefully, a scholarship at the University
of Nebraska Omaha (the Other Nebraska college) for journalism majors.
Again, thank you.

Nice news in a rough situation - while saying "glad to hear it" sounds, well,
not exactly right, I'll say it knowing it'll be taken in the spirit intended.
And you're welcome.

Rod holder? Pffft!! I once knew a fellow from the Midwest who drove halfway

Halfway across the country, to be sure, but only half the rod made the
round trip.....tip sections would be well advised to pick another mode
of transport.

You could be up on my front house lawn all day tomorrow and I'd not bother to
take the time to **** on you if your ass were on fire and your ****hairs were
catching...

Do your best.

I strive to do my best every day...I succeed most days...and neither my nor
anyone else's best would involve you in the slightest...in fact, your own best
would be vicarious...at best...

Moron.

Yeah, uh-huh...

And they spent as much time in the horizontal position as Louie in his
waders...on the plus side, however, the women are probably more sanitary...and
smell better, too...
