Confuscious say: Be wary of company claiming its fishing string is being
sold too cheaply.

LOL! Yes, I am a PP user, but that "release" was just a tad "vague" for my
taste. It essentially tells you to pay full price for Power Pro or not buy
it at all....sound marketing strategy IMO.

First thing I thought too. Who the hell would want to counterfeit fishing
line? What's next fake crankbaits?

The first thing I thought was that they discovered after shipping that
they had made a bunch that was flawed. What better way to excuse bad
product?
Customer: "Hello? I got some PowerPro that breaks way too easy!"
PowerPro: "It's counterfeit."
C: "But it looks just like yours, and the labels are identical in every
way!"
PP: "It's GOOD counterfeit. Look at our press release, we said it was
VERY similar."
C: "Can I get a replacement spool?"
PP: "You'll have to get it from the counterfeiters, it's not ours!"
Some V.P. may have gotten a nice bonus for coming up with this idea.

My next thought was that they had a truckload stolen, and just wanted
to make it hard for the thieves to fence it.
